I am a wife and mother but before I became a wife I was a single mother. I am from the South and had to go through child support issues with the father of my first child. During that process I had to take it upon myself to learn the rules and laws that pertain to child support. I meet my now husband when my child was two and, shortly after my child's father stopped seeing him and then it got ugly. A few months after I was married I recieved several hate emails saying how he wish his son was dead so that he didn't have to pay me anymore.
Within the next year we had a son of our own and the loss of a relative made it so that my now husband could adopt my son. So, in August of 2011, my oldest son, AJ became my husbands and it helped that he had called him "daddy" since we had got married in February 2010.
Since then I have helped many people I know or have come to know with their child support issues or telling them how easy the adoption process is. When I was in Georgia, though I had filed for child support in  Georgia I had to abide by the laws of the state of Alabama. When matters got ugly and NO ONE would give me and advice on what to do, or answer any of my questions. I then took it upon myself on afternoon to go to the local library and mad copies of all the state laws and then sat down and read them and used a dictionary for words I did not understand. By doing so it helped me to get ahead of system and tell them what I expected from them and also, it helped when meeting face to face with my Ex and the judge. In later time it also helped my now husband who was going through issues with his first wife and the two children they had while married.
You see his wife up and left him while he was serving in Iraq. Though still to this day she blames him for the divorce when it was her that cheated and left and left him with the now mountain of debt. But, thanks to her being in California and us in Georgia she had to go by Georgia's laws, not California.
The thing is that, most people think that all father's get the raw end of the deal when it comes to child support. Well, in my latter blogs I am here to tell you that you screwed on both sides of child support. The ones that get hurt in the end are the not only the parents but also the children. That is the importantance of this to help people understand what is right and wrong and how to handle yourselves as adults in these situations and to not act like a fool like most do.
That's it for now.
Thanks
